The Mixolydian b2 scale also called Harmonic Minor Inverse is the 5th mode of the harmonic major scale. It is sometimes referred to as Dominant b2 mode or Mixolydian b9. The interval pattern is tonic (1) – minor second (b2) – major third (3) – perfect fourth (4) – perfect fifth (5) – major sixth (6) and minor seventh (b7).
Notice that the Mixolydian b2 should not be confused with the Mixolydian b2 b6 (as Phrygian dominant) scale that is the fifth mode of the harmonic minor scale. Indeed, this scale as its name implies, contains a b6 instead of a natural 6.
The following diagrams represent the G Mixolydian b2 scale covering the whole guitar neck.
